To strengthen the rights of religious minorities in Iraq, build bridges of communication between all components, support dialogue and peaceful coexistence, and represent the voice of Zoroastrians in national and international forums.

History

Historical Context

Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest religions in Iraq, with mentions of Zoroastrians in the Holy Quran in Surah Al-Hajj, verse 17. The representation of Zoroastrians in Iraq was established in response to the need for official representation and community support for Zoroastrians. Since then, it has worked to participate in national and international events, such as UN sessions against discrimination, interfaith dialogue initiatives, and cultural and social activities that enhance diversity and tolerance.

The Representation of the Zoroastrian Religion in Iraq strives to enhance the rights of religious minorities, build bridges of communication among all components of Iraqi society, support dialogue and peaceful coexistence, and represent the voice of Zoroastrians in national and international forums.

Dr. Haider Asfoor

Head of the Zoroastrian religion representation in Iraq. Honorary member of the International Chamber in recognition of his achievements in international relations and promotion of peace culture. Recipient of the Distinguished Diplomatic and Social Service Medal from the International Social Chamber. Participant in national and international conferences and events on peaceful coexistence and minority rights.

Meriush

Head of the Relations and Media Department at the Zoroastrian Representation.

Nabil Birm

Head of the Training Department at the Zoroastrian Religion Representation. Oversees awareness and training programs, and contributes to the development of competencies and skills.
