Fire Temple in Sharestin• 2 km north of Duhok city, Kurdistan Region
A complex of caves containing four columns, open temples, ritual water channels and holy springs for drinking. Dates back to the first millennium BC.
Historical Significance:
One of the oldest Zoroastrian fire temples in Iraq, functioning as an open fire temple. Part of Kurdistan's nomination for UNESCO World Heritage List.
