The capital Baghdad witnessed the holding of an extensive workshop titled "Building Political Awareness for Minorities," organized by the High Commission for Human Rights in cooperation with and under the auspices of the Zoroastrian Representation – Main Office in Baghdad, with a wide official, international, and academic attendance.
The capital Baghdad witnessed the holding of an extensive workshop titled "Building Political Awareness for Minorities," organized by the High Commission for Human Rights in cooperation with and under the auspices of the Zoroastrian Representation – Main Office in Baghdad, with a wide official, international, and academic attendance.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the National Security Advisory and the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Apparatus, in addition to representatives from the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), religious figures from various sects and religions, university professors, civil society organizations, as well as a distinguished participation by Dr. Ali Dhari Al-Fayyad.
In his opening speech, Dr. Haider Asfūr praised the efforts of the Iraqi government and its official institutions, foremost of which are the High Commission for Human Rights, the National Security Advisory, and the Community Police, in protecting diversity and supporting minorities, affirming that inclusive nationalism is the optimal way to enhance trust among the country's sons and consolidate living together.
The workshop also included speeches by representatives of the National Security, Interior, National Security Advisory, and the United Nations, which discussed the importance of raising political awareness among minorities and their vital role in the democratic process and state-building.
The participants praised Dr. Haider Asfūr's national efforts, affirming that his initiatives represent a living model for enhancing the values of citizenship and unifying the national discourse.
