The head of the Zoroastrian Faith Representation, Dr. Haidar Asfour, made an official visit on Friday morning, July 17, 2026, to the Mandaean Sabian community in the capital Baghdad, to extend congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the arrival of "Dehwa Rba" (the blessed Mandaean New Year).
He was received by His Excellency Sheikh Star Jabbar Halou, Head of the Mandaean Sabian Community in Iraq and worldwide, and prominent Mandaean personalities.
During the meeting, Dr. Haidar Asfour conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Zoroastrian component, wishing the members of the Mandaean community in Iraq and the diaspora a year filled with peace and stability, and emphasizing the deep historical relations and authentic spiritual ties that unite the various Iraqi components.
In turn, His Excellency Sheikh Star Jabbar Halou expressed his great thanks and gratitude for this generous initiative, praising the role of the Zoroastrian Faith Representation in building bridges of communication, confirming that these visits embody national cohesion and the unifying Iraqi identity
