Dr. Haider Asfou presents a strategic vision to enhance global peace and spiritual diplomacy at the International Social Chamber meeting

The meeting of the International Social Chamber's presidency council, held on April 22, 2026, was marked by a notable presence of Dr. Haider Asfou, head of the Zoroastrian representation in Iraq, where he delivered a strategic speech before the presidency council, led by Mr. Alexander Oulchevsiky and members of the council. In his speech, Dr. Asfou emphasized the need to revive human values and wisdom in light of the critical conditions faced by the contemporary world due to escalating violence and dominance challenges targeting the most vulnerable groups.
During the meeting, Dr. Asfou presented a practical roadmap calling for shifting the Chamber's efforts from regular meetings to building sustainable dialogue platforms connecting civil society actors and decision-makers, while activating the Chamber's role in monitoring tension hotspots and providing proactive settlement initiatives based on public diplomacy tools.
The presented vision also focused on the necessity of establishing a peacekeeping committee comprising religious leaders and international humanitarian figures, based on the belief that religions possess a spiritual and moral weight capable of overcoming obstacles that traditional diplomacy may not be able to address. The protection of sacred places and their dignity was also prioritized for international missions.
In this context, Dr. Asfou highlighted the importance of the child diplomacy project as a fundamental pillar for instilling tolerance values and protecting future generations from the effects of wars. He concluded his speech by emphasizing that the combination of these proposals will pave the way for practical steps worthy of humanity's aspirations towards a more secure and peaceful world.
