

Zoroastrian Representation Participates in a Dialogue Symposium to Combat Racial Discrimination
The Zoroastrian representation in Iraq participated in a dialogue symposium held at the Mar Oudisho Church in Baghdad on Monday, May 12, 2025, organized by the volunteer team 'Iraq Al-Amal' to discuss the concluding observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in the United Nations.
Dr. Haider Asfoor, head of the Zoroastrian representation, presented several amendments and proposals to the concluding observations, in line with the reality of Iraq's components and enhances their rights. Dr. Asfoor also thanked the Iraqi government for its prominent role in ensuring the rights of all Iraqi components, conveying their voice, and meeting their requirements.
At the end of the symposium, the final recommendations file was officially handed over to the representative of the Office of Human Rights/Minorities in the United Nations as a national contribution reflecting the aspirations of all groups towards justice and equality.
This participation comes within the efforts of the Zoroastrian representation to enhance the rights of religious minorities in Iraq and work to combat all forms of racial discrimination.
