The Zoroastrian Representation participated in a symposium by the Community Police Directorate under the slogan "No to violence, yes to state control over weapons." Participants emphasized the need to support the rule of law and combat uncontrolled weapons.
A delegation from the Zoroastrian Representation in Iraq – Main Office, led by Dr. Haider Asfouh, participated in a symposium organized by the Community Police Directorate at the Ministry of Interior on April 21, 2025, under the slogan "No to violence, yes to state control over weapons." The event was attended by a number of sheikhs from the Al-Dura tribes, known for their national stances.
In an atmosphere characterized by a sense of national responsibility and social cohesion, the symposium focused on highlighting the dangers of uncontrolled weapons and random firing during celebrations, which poses a threat to the security and safety of society. All attendees emphasized the need to apply laws firmly and take strict measures against violators.
Dr. Haider Asfouh spoke about the importance of the role of original tribes in promoting societal awareness, supporting the rule of law, and holding accountable those who fall short. He pointed out that democracy is not practiced through slogans but through the proper application of its concepts, and that there is no authority above the state and the law.
At the end of the symposium, Dr. Asfouh initiated the honoring of a number of Al-Dura tribe sheikhs by awarding them certificates of appreciation and gratitude, expressing thanks for their honorable positions and their active role in promoting security, stability, and peaceful coexistence in Iraqi society.
