The head of the Zoroastrian religion representation in Iraq, Dr. Haider Asfour, received Ms. Doha Meryoush, the relations and media officer at the representation, and Mr. Ammar Saadi, board member, on the evening of Thursday, 17 September 2026, Dr. Alaa Al-Mandlawi,
Deputy Secretary General of the Iraqi Parliament in the representation's headquarters, to discuss enhancing joint cooperation and supporting the rights of national components and preserving religious and cultural diversity in the country.

Supporting authentic components: Dr. Alaa Al-Mandlawi noted that the visit comes from a belief in the importance of cooperation to serve the public interest and all Iraqi people, confirming full support for the Zoroastrian component, whose civilizational depth in the land of the two rivers extends over 3,500 years.
Parliamentary and legislative coordination: Al-Mandlawi pointed to work through the relevant parliamentary committees, especially the Human Rights Committee in the Parliament, to convey the representation's proposals and observations regarding the Law on Protecting Diversity and Minorities and to incorporate them into legislative frameworks.
