A high-level delegation from the Zoroastrian religious representation in Iraq, led by Dr. Haider Asfour, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, visited the headquarters of the Fifth Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Baghdad. They were received by Mr. Hewal Azad Hamid Shafi, the branch head, in a ceremony attended by officials and media representatives.

During the meeting, the branch head expressed his deep appreciation for the positive role played by the Zoroastrian religious representation in promoting values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He emphasized that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, under the leadership of President Masoud Barzani, considers all religious and national components an integral part of the social fabric in Kurdistan and Iraq. He also stressed that supporting the rights of these components and respecting their institutions is a firm commitment of the party.

He highlighted the importance of enhancing cultural and media cooperation with the Zoroastrian representation in Baghdad, reflecting its humanitarian message based on brotherhood, acceptance of others, and respect for diversity. He directed support for the representation in various activities that serve its members and enhance its position in the Iraqi religious and cultural scene.

On their part, Dr. Haider Asfour and the delegation members expressed their gratitude for the warm reception, praising the Kurdistan Democratic Party's positions in supporting the issues of religious components and protecting their rights. They emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation with the party's institutions to serve the people of Kurdistan, regardless of their affiliations.
